Used a tripod of course.

WS6 or just a regular Trans Am?

Just an Olympus E-420 (Was on a budget, now a lot of nicer HDR's are cheaper...)
Had set it to the night functions, some of the other shutter settings I'm not quite versed with. Was just doing it kinda quick.

"Just" a V6 Firebird.

Ah, the twin exhaust fooled me. I thought they kept only a single exhaust on the V6s, much like the Mustangs and Camaros of the era.

It was originally a single out.
I installed longtube headers and 3" exhaust all the way out. Offers room to grow for the turbo build here later on.

I saw one of these in Metallic purple a while ago, the paint looked stock

V6 Firebird, is it an auto? What year is it?
My oldest sister's boyfriend has one, and it's a 2002 (last year) V6 auto. Has flowmaster cat backs installed, but has a million things wrong with it, and he's not much into cars, so it's hard to convince him to fix things. Lots of electrical problems in it that are intermittent.

Bright purple metallic is a stock color, but very very rare. Mine is uncommon, but not as rare (Maple Red Metallic, aka Maroon).

2000, and it was an auto. I have a 6-speed manual in there now via an adapter plate from Australia.
Car has a lot of stuff done to it. I know it pretty much inside and out now. Have owned it for 12 years, and it has 163k miles now.
These things require some upkeep now, but they can be rewarding for sure.

Is it easy to get the center console apart to do work on the wiring harness behind the ashtray? I know there's some damage there, I just don't really know how much because I don't get to see the car much...
I'd love to get him to do a manual swap, but I know he would hate driving it (he can't drive manual very well to begin with).

It's not too bad. 2 x 8mm (think) socket head screws under the change holder in the armrest and pull the little clip/staple out of the shifter to pull it off and it gives you access to the harness. Just be gentle since the plastic is now going to be pretty brittle.
Wiring in a manual was a pita. Would rather just have a manual trans car to begin with next time.
I have the GTO's T-56 and 3.42 rear gears, so this is what it looks like at cruising speed:

How rare?

Only 466 in 1998 for the LS1 body style.
Rarest are the lone 6-speed and lone automatic WS6 Convertibles.
Maybe more rare was the 10 Sunset orange metallic birds in 2000.

gotcha. Im looking to just try and save the car by fixing the radio, window and rear defroster issues. The rest is just a bonus
